Nashville's first residential high-rise. When The Cumberland opened on Church Street in 1998, downtown Nashville had no residential towers and virtually no one living in the central business district. One resident moved in on opening day.
The Cumberland proved that people would live downtown. It was the bet that started everything. Every tower Giarratana has built since exists because this one worked.
